On Monday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will discuss President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace plan, cooperation in infrastructure projects and energy security.
Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today we will hold the second intergovernmental consultations with the Government of Slovakia and Prime Minister Robert Fico. We will focus on discussing the road map - the plan of joint activities that was signed during our first meeting. This, in particular, is cooperation in infrastructure projects, economy and energy security," he informed.
Shmyhal noted that a significant part of electricity imports to Ukraine comes from Slovakia, which has never refused help.
Shmyhal also plans to raise the issue of Slovakia's strengthening of support for President Zelenskyy's peace plan, support for Ukraine's membership in the European Union, as well as demining of Ukrainian territories, humanitarian support and restoration of Ukraine.
The parties will also discuss continued cooperation in the field of defense procurement.
In addition, Shmyhal said that the signing of bilateral documents between Ukraine and Slovakia is expected as a continuation of the "new pragmatism" policy.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in January Shmyhal and Fico met in Uzhhorod to discuss bilateral relations and Slovakia's support for EU decisions.
Shmyhal then said that he had agreed with Fico on Slovakia's support for the EU's allocation of EUR 50 billion to Ukraine.
In April, Fico said that Slovakia will not hinder Ukraine on its way to the EU.
According to media, Fico plans to convince Ukraine not to stop gas transit at the end of 2024, when Ukraine's transit agreement with Gazprom expires.
In October, Fico said that he would like to restore normal relations with the aggressor country russia after the end of a full-scale war in Ukraine.
