As of October 1, gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities (UGS) exceed 12.4 billion cubic meters.
This is evidenced by the calculations of ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the publication, during the past heating season of 2023/2024, Ukraine used about 6.8 billion cubic meters of gas from underground storage despite additional needs related to electricity generation.
At the same time, this heating season, gas consumption, in particular for electricity generation, is expected to be at the previous level.
At the same time, due to the increased production of natural gas by Ukrgasvydobuvannia and the additional resource of Ukrnaftoburinnia, the volumes of withdrawals by consumers of Ukraine are planned to be at a level lower than the indicators of the last autumn-winter period.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Naftogaz plans to accumulate 13 billion cubic meters of gas in UGS by the heating season of 2024/2025.
On April 1, Ukraine completed the 2023/2024 heating season and began the season of gas injection into UGS.
