249 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the relevant project of the resolution instead of the minimum required 226, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
After his dismissal, Maliuska went to the rostrum of the parliament and raised his hands in a congratulatory gesture.
The MPs greeted him with thunderous applause.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada received resignations from Oleksandr Kamyshyn, Minister of Strategic Industries, Denys Maliuska, Minister of Justice, Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, and Vitalii Koval, head of the State Property Fund.
Talks about Maliuska’s resignation in the Rada have been going on since 2021.
In March 2023, Dmytro Razumkov, the ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and head of the Rozumna Polityka (Reasonable Politics) inter-factional association stated that he believed that Maliuska should resign.
In August 2019, the Rada appointed an MP from the Servant of the People faction, Denys Maliuska, to the position of the Minister of Justice.
