Airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a unique video recording of the first hours of the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation on August 6, 2024.
The video was distributed by the press service of the Airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Demining, breaching the border, destroying the enemy's defensive lines, the work of aviation, artillery, prisoners. The first hours of the offensive operation of the Defense Forces in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation on August 6, 2024," the message reads.
The Airborne assault troops emphasized that this is a day that will go down in the history of the russian-Ukrainian war. The department also noted that careful preparation, planning, suddenness, fighting spirit and informational silence became decisive at the initial stage of the operation.
"Now everything depends on the stability of the Ukrainian soldiers of all branches of the military involved in the operation," the Airborne assault troops added.
We will remind, on the morning of August 6, the authorities of the Kursk Oblast claimed that "saboteurs" tried to break through the russian border at night, but they were allegedly repelled.
Already in the evening of August 6, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation confirmed the information about the breakthrough of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Kursk Oblast border. In order to contain the Ukrainian units, the occupiers were forced to send reserves.
On August 14, the Security Service of Ukraine captured more than 100 russian soldiers during an operation in the Kursk Oblast of russia.
Meanwhile, on August 15, Ukraine created the first military commandant's office in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation. The Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced 35 km deep and took control of 82 settlements.
