Ukraine has created the first military commandant's office on the territory of the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced 35 km deep into the territory of the russian federation and took control of 82 settlements.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this during a report at the meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, a fragment of which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"On the territory of the Kursk Oblast, the destruction of the enemy in the settlement of Sudzha and three other settlements has been completed. To maintain law and order and ensure the priority needs of the population in the controlled territories, a military commandant's office has been established, and its head has been appointed - Major General Moskaliov has been appointed," said Syrskyi.
He also said that at the beginning of the current day, Ukrainian troops advanced from 500 m to 1.5 km in some directions, repelled several enemy attacks and continued offensive operations.
Syrskyi also reported that since the beginning of the operation on the territory of the Kursk Oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced 35 km deep into the territory of the russian federation, taking control of 1,150 square km and 82 settlements.
In his report, Syrskyi noted that the situation in the East and South of Ukraine remains difficult, but under control, the Defense Forces continue to conduct defensive operations in the eastern and southern operational zones, the main efforts are focused on preventing the enemy from advancing in the direction of Toretsk and Pokrovsk.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy noted in the traditional evening video address on August 14 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance in the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor country of the russian federation, they are achieving a strategic goal in the region, and are also replenishing the exchange fund.
At a meeting on the situation in the Kursk Oblast of russia, Zelenskyy discussed humanitarian aid and the creation of military commandant's offices.
