Cabinet creates working group on military registration of Ukrainians abroad

The Cabinet of Ministers created an interdepartmental working group on military registration of Ukrainian citizens abroad, their training and military service, headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umierov.

This is stated in resolution No. 850 of July 9, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The main tasks of the working group are:

assistance in ensuring the coordination of the actions of the executive authorities, other state bodies, institutions and organizations in matters of military registration of citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, their training and military service;

preparation of proposals and recommendations on matters of military registration of citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, their training and military service;

determination of ways, mechanisms and methods of solving problematic issues of military registration of citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, their training and military service;

improvement of the legal framework for military registration of citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, their training and military service.

The interdepartmental working group, in accordance with the tasks assigned to it, develops proposals for action plans on matters of military registration of citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, their training and military service, specifying specific measures, deadlines for their implementation, responsible executors, the order of coordination of actions for the implementation of such measures and controls and coordinates such action plans.

Proposals and recommendations of the working group can be implemented by the Cabinet of Ministers.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the data of the Ministry of Defense on July 17, 3.4 million Ukrainians updated their data in the Reserve+ application, of which 83,500 were abroad.

The security agreement signed with Poland provides for the training of a "Ukrainian legion" of Ukrainians who are currently abroad on the territory of Poland.
