Doctor speaks about condition of Biden, who is sick with coronavirus

The condition of U.S. President Joe Biden, who fell ill with the coronavirus, continues to improve. Symptoms include cough and hoarseness. Other indicators are normal.

This is stated in a letter from Biden's doctor, Kevin C. O'Connor, published by the White House.

"President Biden completed his sixth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. He is still experiencing a loose, non-productive and hoarseness, but his symptoms continue to improve steadily," the statement said.

The doctor reported that his pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remained completely normal, and oxygen saturation continued to be excellent, and his lungs remained clear.

"The President continues to tolerate treatment well and will continue PAXLOVID as planned. He continues to perform all of his presidential duties," the doctor added.

He noted that he would inform about any changes in the condition of the US president or in his treatment plan.

It is also stated that genomic sequencing has determined that the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) variant that the President has encountered is the KP .2.3 variant. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the KP .2.3 variant accounts for approximately 33.3% of new infections in the United States.

Recall, on July 17, U.S. President Joe Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19.
