Zelenskyy reports on Poland's positive decision, which will allow Ukraine to receive F-16s as soon as possible

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has informed about the positive decision of the Polish government after his meeting with the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk, which will enable Ukraine to receive F-16s as soon as possible.

He reported this on X.

Thus, the president announced that yesterday he met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the summit of the European Political Community in the United Kingdom to discuss strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

"And today we have a positive decision by the Polish government on the matter, which will enable Ukraine to receive F-16 fighter jets as soon as possible. Thank you, dear Donald, for the effective implementation of our previous agreements. I am grateful to Poland for its strong support for Ukraine," the message reads.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Al Jazeera, citing sources as saying, announced that Greece is considering decommissioning 32 old F-16 Block-30 fighter jets in order to send them to the United States for modernization and subsequent transfer to Ukraine.

Recall that on July 10, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the Netherlands and Denmark had begun transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs at least 128 F-16 fighter jets to effectively counter russia.
