Today, March 18, US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin will hold a conversation about ending russia's war against Ukraine. The American President said that "many elements of the final agreement have been agreed upon, but much remains to be done."

The American President told reporters that he will hold a conversation with the russian leader on March 18, noting that a lot of work was done the day before – over the weekend.

"We'll see if we have something to announce, maybe by Tuesday. I will talk to President Putin on Tuesday," he said.

According to the US President, the topics for negotiations will include, in particular, the issues of territories and power plants, and he also mentioned the possible "distribution of certain assets." However, he did not provide any clarifications.

Meanwhile, the White House has singled out the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant as one of the topics. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt described it as "located on the border between Ukraine and Russia," while the nuclear power plant is located in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia Region, the city of Enerhodar.

On the night before Tuesday, the day of the conversation, Trump said on the social network Truth Social that "many elements of the final agreement have been agreed upon, but much remains," and added that he was looking forward to a phone conversation with putin.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the kremlin confirmed a planned conversation about ending the russian-Ukrainian war between Trump and putin.

According to The Washington Post, kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the conversation will mainly concern the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but is also "an important step that sets the tone for the movement towards the revival of relations between the states."

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine accepts the US proposal to establish a full ceasefire on March 11 – based on the results of negotiations between Ukraine and the US in Saudi Arabia.
