HCJ consents to arrest of 4 judges of Kyiv Court of Appeal caught on bribes

The High Council of Justice (HCJ) has consented to the arrest of four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, who were convicted of receiving a bribe of USD 35,000 for making the "right" decision.

This is stated in the message of the HCJ, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The meeting of the High Council of Justice was attended by 15 members of the HCJ.

The Council allowed the detention of Viacheslav Dziubin, Ihor Palenyk, Yurii Slyva and Viktor Hlynianyi.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in Kyiv, famous judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal Slyva, Hlynianyi, Palenyk and Dziubin were caught on bribes.

On November 28, the "intermediary judge" received from a representative of a private company an unlawful benefit for satisfying a complaint against a local court ruling on the imposition of arrest on aircraft.

After receiving the funds, this judge retained USD 10,000, and transferred USD 25,000 to colleagues who made a court decision.

On November 29, members of the panel of judges divided the bribe of USD 25,000 among themselves.

During searches at the place of stay and residence of the judges, detectives seized the bribe.
