On Sunday, November 26, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (Zaporizhzhia NPP), temporarily occupied by the russians, was on the verge of a complete blackout all day.
This was reported by Energoatom.
It is noted that at 10:30 a.m. that day, as a result of a short circuit approximately 100 km north of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the last fourth line of its connection with the power system of Ukraine - PL-750 kV of Zaporizhzhia NPP - Dniprovska was disconnected. At the same time, three other lines were damaged even earlier during russian shelling.
As reported by the IAEA, at that time the Zaporizhzhia NPP was receiving external power from the only available backup power transmission line of 330 kV.
In addition, there was a partial blackout of power unit No. 4 with the automatic switching on of the diesel generator, which was turned off manually 10 minutes later. Energoatom noted that this indicates a problem with the power supply of the nuclear installation.
"Ukrainian specialists repaired the damaged 750 kV line at 8:52 p.m. Until that time, the Zaporizhzhia NPP had been on the verge of another blackout for almost a whole day in case of de-energization of the 330 kV reserve line," the company emphasized.
Energoatom reminded that since the capture by the russians, the Zaporizhzhia NPP has repeatedly lost its external power source, seven complete blackouts and one partial blackout have already occurred at the plant.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Energoatom national nuclear energy generating company completed repairs on all power units of the nuclear power plants in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
