Ukraine retained the 24th place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in January-October.
This follows from a statement by the Ukrmetalurgprom association, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to it, according to the results of production in January-October, Ukraine took the 24th position among 71 countries - producers of steel with a result of 5.16 million tons, which is 11.7% lower than the indicator of January-October 2022.
The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists in January-October smelted 874.70 million tons of steel, which is 1.4% higher than in January-October 2022.
China's share in world steel production is 55.8%.
The second place belongs to India (production increased by 12.1% to 116.3 million tons), the third place - to Japan (it decreased by 3% to 72.9 million tons), the fourth place - to the U.S. (it decreased by 0.8% to 67.4 million tons), the fifth - to russia (increased by 5.3% to 63.5 million tons), the sixth - to South Korea (increased by 0.2% to 55.9 million tons), the seventh - to Germany (decreased by 4.1% to 30.1 million tons), the eighth - to Turkiye (decreased by 8.8% to 27.5 million tons), the ninth - to Brazil (decreased by 8.6% to 26.5 million tons), the tenth - to Iran (decreased by 0.1% to 25.1 million tons).
World steel production in January-October amounted to 1,567.33 million tons, which is 0.15% higher than in January-October 2022.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 24th place in the ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2022.
