Ukraine retained the 24th place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in January-September.
This follows from a statement by the Ukrmetalurgprom association, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to it, according to the results of production in January-September, Ukraine took the 24th position among 64 countries - producers of steel with a result of 4.59 million tons, which is 16.9% lower than the indicator of January-September 2022.
The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists in January-September smelted 795.07 million tons of steel, which is 0.08% higher than in January-September 2022.
China's share in world steel production is 56.5%.
The second place belongs to India (production increased by 11.6% to 104.1 million tons), the third place - to Japan (it decreased by 3.6% to 65.4 million tons), the fourth place - to the U.S. (it decreased by 1.4% to 60.6 million tons), the fifth - to russia (increased by 4.8% to 57.1 million tons), the sixth - to South Korea (decreased by 0.5% to 50.4 million tons), the seventh - to Germany (decreased by 3.6% to 27.2 million tons), the eighth - to Turkiye (decreased by 10.1% to 24.5 million tons), the ninth - to Brazil (decreased by 8% to 24 million tons), the tenth - to Iran (decreased by 0.6% to 22.1 million tons).
World steel production in January-September amounted to 1,406.38 million tons, which is 0.08% higher than in January-September 2022.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 24th place in the ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2022.
