The Ukrzaliznytsia joint-stock company doubles the number of trains with women's compartments.
This is stated in the company's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
From November 15, women's compartments will be available in 4 more trains: No. 17/18 Kharkiv - Uzhhorod, No. 29/30 Kyiv - Uzhhorod, No. 3/4 Zaporizhzhia - Uzhhorod and No. 26/236 Odesa - Rakhiv.
"It will be possible to buy tickets for women's compartments in the Ukrzaliznytsia application from October 27. The depth of sale is 20 days. As before, seats will be marked accordingly in the application, and boarding in such compartments will be open only to women and children up to 5 years of age inclusively," the message says.
It is noted that the fare in women's compartments does not differ from the standard fare in carriages of a similar class of the same train.
"Our pilot project with women's compartments demonstrated that this service is now needed and relevant. On average, such compartments are filled by 93%. In 4 months, we have already sold 25,000 tickets. Therefore, as promised, we are increasing the number of trains where this service will be available. We chose "long" routes, where many women travel with children, and also added new destinations to the project: Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rakhiv," said Yevhen Liashchenko, board chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June, Ukrzaliznytsia opened the sale of tickets for women's compartments.
