As of October 16, the volume of gas from foreign traders who used the service of gas storage in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities (UGS) is 2.4 billion cubic meters.
This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Energy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"From April to October 2023, the GTS Operator transported more than 3 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the EU and Moldova to Ukraine. This is 7 times more than the volume of gas transported during the same period last year (over 414 million cubic meters). Of the volume of gas transported, 2.4 billion cubic meters of gas, owned by foreign companies, are stored at domestic UGS," the message says.
According to the GTS Operator of Ukraine, Slovakia became the main direction of gas transportation - 45% of gas volumes came from there.
Natural gas was also supplied from Hungary, Poland and the Trans-Balkan route (from Romania via Moldova).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Energy predicts that by the beginning of winter, the volume of European traders' gas in Ukrainian underground storage facilities will increase to 3 billion cubic meters.
