CEC recognizes Loktionova as Member of Parliament to replace Aristov

The Central Election Commission has recognized Natalia Loktionova as an elected Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party instead of Yurii Aristov, who was vacationing in the Maldives and resigned.

This is stated in the CEC’s message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The commission received a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of July 27, which prematurely terminated the powers of Member of Parliament Yurii Aristov, in connection with his personal resignation statement.

Aristov was elected at the snap election of MPs of Ukraine on July 21, 2019 in the national multi-member constituency from the Servant of the People political party.

"The CEC considered this resolution and recognized Natalia Loktionova, the next candidate in order, included in the electoral list of the Servant of the People political party under No. 146, as an elected Member of Parliament of Ukraine in this election in the national multi-member constituency," the statement said.

In 2019, 42-year-old Loktionova ran for the 9th convocation Rada from the Servant of the People (No. 146 on the list), as a non-affiliated candidate, was officially unemployed at the time of the election.

Loktionova worked as a marketing manager at Ancor Personal Ukraine ltd, in various positions in the marketing and sales departments of the First Leasing Company.

The media called Loktionova the sister of the long-term assistant to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Maria Levchenko, referring to joint photos.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 27, the Rada prematurely terminated the powers of a MP from the Servant of the People faction, Yurii Aristov, in connection with his submission of a corresponding application.

Aristov posted his resignation statement after a scandal over a vacation in the Maldives. According to journalists, in mid-July, the 48-year-old MP was vacationing in the five-star Waldorf Astoria Maldives hotel, located on the private island of Ithaafushi (Maldives).
