Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on a school in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia Region, where people were receiving humanitarian aid at the time. As a result of the attack, four people were killed and 11 others were wounded.
This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
"The troops of the Russian Federation carried out an airstrike on the Orikhiv school, where at that time civilians were receiving humanitarian aid. The aerial bomb almost completely destroyed the building. As a result of the explosion, four citizens were killed and eleven more were injured," the message reads.
Under the rubble of the destroyed institution, more than a half dozen people who were inside and nearby outside were found.
In addition, as a result of the hit, residential buildings and other objects of civil infrastructure, located near the epicenter of the explosion, were damaged.
"The bodies of four killed people were unblocked - three women, born in 1976, 1978 and 1980, as well as a man, born in 1976. Eleven more rescued citizens with injuries of varying degrees of severity were hospitalized after providing first aid," the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.
Rescue operations are currently underway, sappers are establishing the type of ammunition used on the civilian population.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at night the Russian Federation launched a missile attack on Mykolaiv and hit an infrastructure object. Probably, the Inskander-M missile was used.
In addition, Russian troops again attacked the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, using heavy artillery for strikes. The Marhanets community was shelled, as well as Nikopol itself.
