The Armed Forces of Ukraine have advanced in the past day in the Bakhmut, Toretsk and Berdiansk directions. Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced this in her Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In the course of conducting an offensive operation, our troops have advanced over the past day in: the Bakhmut direction in the area of the Berkhivske Reservoir by 250 meters; the Toretsk direction - by 200 meters; the Berdiansk direction from 0.5 to 1 kilometer, the area of the territory taken under control was up to 3 square kilometers," she said.
Maliar noted that the enemy is doing everything to keep the positions captured by it, is actively using assault and army aviation, and is conducting intense artillery fire.
During the offensive, Ukrainian troops encounter continuous minefields, which are combined with anti-tank ditches.
All this is combined with constant counterattacks by enemy units on armored vehicles and the massive use of anti-tank guided missiles and kamikaze drones.
Maliar reported that fighting is currently ongoing in the districts:
Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, near Makarivka in the Orikhiv direction;
Maryinka;
Yahidne in the Bakhmut direction;
Vesele in the Lyman direction.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 12, Maliar reported that during the last week (June 5-11), during the offensive operation in the Donetsk and Tavriya operational areas, the Ukrainian military liberated 7 settlements: Lobkove, Levadne, Novodarivka, Neskuchne, Storozheve, Makarivka, Blahodatne.
