In April, the volume of private remittances decreased by 9.5% and amounted to USD 945 million.
This follows from a statement by the National Bank, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Wages received by Ukrainians from abroad increased by 7.5%, and other private transfers received through official channels decreased by 32.5%.
In total, 17.5% fewer remittances were sent through official channels than in April last year, while the flow through informal channels increased by 1.6% compared to April last year.
In total, in January-April of this year, the volume of remittances decreased by 12.8%, including net wages - by 12.4%, and private transfers - by 13.7%.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in March, private remittances increased by 7.1% to USD 1.1 billion.
In 2021, the volume of money transfers to Ukraine increased by 25.4% year over year to USD 15.026 billion.
In 2020, the volume of remittances increased by 1.7% to a record USD 12.1 billion.
