In March, private remittances increased by 7.1% to USD 1.1 billion.
This follows from a statement by NBU data, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Wages received by Ukrainians from abroad increased by 24.6%, while other private transfers received through official channels decreased by 18.5%.
In total, formal channels sent 3.5% fewer remittances over March 2022, while the flow through informal channels increased by 23.0% over March 2022.
In total, in the first quarter of the current year, the volume of remittances decreased by 8.6%, including net wages - by 8.3% and private transfers - by 9.3%.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2021, the volume of money transfers to Ukraine increased by 25.4% year over year to USD 15.026 billion.
In 2020, the volume of remittances increased by 1.7% to a record-breaking USD 12.1 billion.
