Zelenskyy In Japan Discussed With European Council President Export Of Ukrainian Grain To EU

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while in Japan on Saturday to attend the Group of Seven summit, held a meeting with European Council President Charles Michel. As stated in the message of the Office of the President, Zelenskyy and Michel discussed the implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission to begin negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

"During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of export restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural products by a number of EU countries and the inadmissibility of their extension after June 5," the President’s Office noted.

Among other topics of the conversation are the implementation of the Ukrainian "formula of peace" and the consolidation of its world support, as well as the coordination of positions on the eve of the meeting of the Group of Seven summit.

The President of the European Council, commenting on the meeting with Zelenskyy, wrote on Twitter: "Ukraine is unbreakable. So is our support and friendship. Slava Ukraini."

He has already held talks with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Government leader Giorgia Meloni.

The leaders of the G7 agreed on a joint communique on the results of the summit in Japan - the day before its conclusion, where they confirmed the unwavering support of Ukraine for as much as it takes to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.
