In the Kyiv Region, the reconstruction of houses has started with funds from the UNITED24 platform, online cameras have been installed on the houses for transparency. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In the Kyiv Region, the restoration of multi-apartment buildings has started as part of the "Recovery" direction of the UNITED24 fundraising platform. Currently, we are talking about 3 out of 18 buildings in the region that were damaged by the Russian occupiers. These are objects in the settlements of Myla, Buzova, and Hostomel," he said.
Kravchenko noted that the restoration of 3 buildings started this week. On others, work will begin in the near future in stages and should be completed by the end of the year.
He said that a few months ago, the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the Ministry of Infrastructure and UNDP signed a memorandum on cooperation and large-scale restoration of 18 high-rise buildings. The project will allow more than 4,000 residents to return to their homes. The estimated cost of restoring 18 buildings is UAH 800 million.
3 houses in the Hostomel community, 4 in Dmytrivka community, 4 in Borodianka community and 7 in Irpin community will be restored. All works will be carried out taking into account modern principles of reconstruction, in particular, thermal modernization to reduce energy consumption.
"Another requirement is transparency and accountability of all processes. Online cameras are installed at each facility. Anyone can see how work is being done," he said.
Kravchenko noted that in general, during the hostilities in the Kyiv Region, destruction was recorded in 46 out of 69 territorial communities. Critical destruction was caused in Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Borodianka, Makariv, Dmytrivka, Velyka Dymerka territorial communities.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the first 18 residential buildings will be rebuilt with the funds collected within the framework of the UNITED24 platform in the Kyiv Region - in Irpin, Borodianka, Hostomel, the villages of Buzova and Myla.
