Merkel's CDU/CSU Wins German Parliamentary Elections With 33% Of Vote, Social Democratic Party - 20.5%, Alternative for Germany - 12.6%

With 100% of protocols processed by the Germany election commission, the party Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union collected 33% of the vote at the parliamentary elections in Germany, the Social Democratic Party is the second with 20.5% and the party Alternative for Germany is the third with 12.6%.

The figures are posted on the website of the German election commission, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Thus, the CDU/CSU will have 246 seats in Bundestag, Social Democratic Party 153 seats, Alternative for Germany 94 seats.

The other political parties that managed to override the 5-percent threshold at the parliamentary elections in Germany include: the Free Democratic Party (10.7%), the Left Party (9.2%), Alliance 90/The Greens (8.9%). They will have 80, 69, and 67 seats in Bundestag respectively.

The voter turnout was 76.2%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko considers that the victory of the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union of German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the parliamentary elections in Germany will facilitate the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
