The Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv has extended the arrests of former Berkut riot police officers Pavlo Abroskin, Serhii Zinchenko, Oleksandr Marynchenko, Serhii Tamtura, and Oleh Yanyshevskyi, who are accused of killing 48 Euromaidan activists on Instytutska Street in Kyiv, until June 24. Ihor Varfolomeev, a lawyer for the former Berkut riot police officers, announced this to Ukrainian News Agency. "Today, the court granted a request by the prosecutor's office to extend the detention of all the accused. The period of their arrest was extended until June 24," he said. The lawyer said that one of the victims could not be cross-examined at the court session on Tuesday, April 25, because he did not appear in court. The next court session is scheduled for May 16. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, defense lawyers for the five former Berkut riot police officers accessed of shooting 48 Euromaidan activists expect the court to announce its decision in 2017.
