Cabinet Dismisses Dekanoidze

The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Chief of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a source in the Interior Affairs Ministry with reference to the government's decision.

National Police's first deputy chief Vadym Troyan was appointed as acting chief of the National Police.

Dekanoidze submitted her resignation statement on November 14.

On November 4, 2015, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Dekanoidze as the Chief of the National Police.

In the period of July 25 - October 25, 2012, she worked as education and science minister of Georgia.

Besides, Dekanoidze was a rector of the Georgian police academy.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Dekanoidze has said that she opposes appointment the National Police's first deputy chief Vadym Troyan as the chief of the National Police.
