Russian occupation forces launched ballistic missile strikes on a military training ground in the Kyiv Region, where an arms exhibition was taking place at the time. So far, six people are known to have been killed and dozens injured. Valerii Borovyk, the founder of the defense contractor First Contact, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, July 24.

Borovyk did not specify the location of the strike or disclose any details, but Zelenskyy confirmed that the occupiers had launched strikes on the Kyiv Region.

“A rescue operation is currently underway in the Kyiv Region following a Russian missile strike. As of now, dozens of people are known to have been injured. It is also known that, unfortunately, six people have been killed. My condolences go out to their families and loved ones. An investigation into all the circumstances and the fate of those affected is ongoing. All necessary emergency services are on the scene,” the President said.

Borovyk emphasized that the russians launched the strikes in response to a specific event. In addition, Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov, an unofficial advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the development of defense technologies, reported that he and his team are safe.

Meanwhile, a promotional video for an arms exhibition—which the organizers had released the day before—was shared online, though it did not specify the venue or time.

Eyewitnesses shared footage of the aftermath of the strikes.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 3, 2025, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Ground Forces, stated that the occupying forces had launched a missile strike on a Ukrainian Armed Forces training ground in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.

It later emerged that the State Bureau of Investigation had opened a criminal case for negligence in connection with the russian missile strike on the training ground.
