A satellite image of a russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber has been published online; the Security Service of Ukraine reported its destruction last Friday, July 17.
The image was posted by OSINT analyst AviVector on social media platform X (Twitter).
The image shows two Tu-95 bombers at the “Engels-2” airfield in the Saratov Oblast of the aggressor state, the russian federation.
The image shows that the tail section of the bomber on the left has been completely torn off as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones.
AviVector reports that the aircraft visible in the photo had been at the airfield for an extended period, undergoing rotation and maintenance.

The Tu-95MS is a Soviet strategic bomber that the aggressor country, the russian federation, is using in missile strikes against Ukraine. The aircraft is armed with Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles.
According to information from open sources, russia has already lost six Tu-95MS aircraft since the start of its full-scale invasion. Two more bombers were damaged.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last Friday, July 17, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that it had carried out a special operation that resulted in the destruction of a Tu-95MS bomber at the “Engels-2” airfield.
As a reminder, on July 16, a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard shot down a russian Su-24 bomber at the “Saky” airfield in the occupied Crimea.
