Herman Smetanin leaves the position of director general of the Ukrainian Defense Industry joint-stock company.
Smetanin announced this in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today, I am finishing my work as the director general of the Ukrainian Defense Industry joint-stock company. It was an honor for me to head the largest defense company of Ukraine," he said.
Smetanin wished the new leader and the team further success in fulfilling an important state mission.
Smetanin is leaving his post against the background of the tragedy due to the explosions in Vyshneve, Kyiv Region, after the russian attack on the ammunition warehouse of one of the Ukroboronprom enterprises.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in August 2025, Smetanin headed Ukroboronprom for the second time.
In September 2024 - July 2025, he was the Minister of Strategic Industries.
Before that, from June 2023, he was the general director of Ukroboronprom.
