The leaders of Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and the United Kingdom have created an Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition to improve the security of the European continent. This was announced in a statement from the Elysee Palace on Monday, July 13.
The 10 countries believe that the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition should be one of the components of a global missile defense architecture built on a common defense-industrial base, research and operational experience.
"We recognize Ukraine's unique experience in defending against russia's aggressive war. Through this Declaration, we seek to establish common operational requirements, joint technical working groups, clear governance mechanisms, and a roadmap to the Coalition's first operational capabilities - in accordance with our constitutional agreements and international obligations," the document states.
The project will continue to seek funding opportunities and improve data and information exchange. The Coalition's founders are Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 13, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded French leader Emmanuel Macron one of Ukraine's highest state awards, the Order of Freedom, before a meeting of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition and the Coalition of the Willing.
