President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded French leader Emmanuel Macron with one of the highest state awards of Ukraine - the Order of Freedom. The head of state announced this on the Telegram channel.
"The relations between our countries have reached a truly strategic level, and in many ways it is thanks to the personal efforts of President Macron. Today I thanked Emmanuel for his help and support over these years and awarded Mr. President, a true friend of Ukraine, with the Order of Freedom," Zelenskyy wrote.
The President also provided details of their meeting. The heads of state discussed priorities before the meeting of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition and the Coalition of the Willing, as well as bilateral cooperation.
"We spoke in detail about the situation on the front and Ukraine's needs to protect people from russian attacks. It is important to strengthen Ukraine, strengthen our air defense and accelerate our European anti-ballistic missile. France has exactly the capabilities and strong technologies that are needed to help. We will work on this together with our allies. Thank you, France, thank you, Emmanuel!" Zelenskyy added.
The Order of Freedom is the highest order of Ukraine that can be awarded to foreigners.
We will remind, earlier, explosions were heard near the hotel where Macron stayed during his visit to Syria.
