Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Olha Stefanishyna may receive suspicion from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). This was stated by MP Oleksii Honcharenko, referring to his own sources.

He published a corresponding message on Telegram.

According to Honcharenko, Stefanishyna arrived in Kyiv a few days ago. Also, according to his information, she participated in the meeting of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with US representatives - Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman Michael McCaul, which took place on July 10.

Investigative journalist Yurii Nikolov also wrote about the possible presentation of suspicion. On his Facebook page, he reported that, according to his sources, who, according to him, are not connected with the NABU, law enforcement officers may be preparing Stefanishyna for suspicion of allegedly illegal income.

According to Nikolov, the subject of the inspection may be an apartment or a car. At the same time, there is no official confirmation of this information at the moment.

Earlier, the Interfax-Ukraine agency, citing an informed source, reported that last week Olha Stefanishyna allegedly asked to end her diplomatic service due to personal circumstances.

BBC News Ukraine, citing several interlocutors on Bankova, reported that incumbent Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko may be sent to Washington to replace Stefanishyna.

According to the BBC, the reason is the existence of a criminal case against the official. Which one - an existing one or a new one - is not specified at the moment.

The same reason was confirmed to BBC News Ukraine by another source from the President's Office. "There were no comments or questions to Yulia [Svyrydenko]. This is not a story about Yulia, but about the Cabinet of Ministers. But there are questions about Washington: we feel that Olya will have to return, and, accordingly, a strong figure is needed in Washington to conduct business there," the source noted.

In turn, the Financial Times notes that Olha Stefanishyna faced an investigation into her family's purchase of an apartment in Kyiv at a price that, according to investigators, is significantly lower than the market price.

Recall that last year, the Hromadske publication published an investigation into how Olha Stefanishyna's mother bought an apartment in Kyiv almost four times cheaper than on the market. Later, the government official explained that her parents invested in the apartment back in 2019, when one square meter cost UAH 29,000. That is why, according to her, the cost of housing turned out to be almost four times lower.

Recall, earlier the name of Olha Stefanishyna had already appeared in criminal proceedings, known as the "Lukash case". The investigation believed that in 2013-2014, officials of the Ministry of Justice spent more than UAH 2.5 million of budget funds allocated for the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU norms without sufficient legal grounds. At that time, Stefanishyna worked in the Department of European Integration of the Ministry of Justice and, according to the investigation, participated in organizing the relevant procurement.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 27, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Stefanishyna as Ambassador to the United States instead of Oksana Markarova.

Stefanishyna held the position of Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - Minister of Justice in the government of Denys Shmyhal.
