Russian dictator vladimir putin has publicly acknowledged for the first time that russia is facing problems with the supply of automotive fuel. According to him, there are lines at gas stations, and certain grades of gasoline have become scarce.
Putin made this statement during a meeting on ensuring fuel supplies for the domestic market.
“Problems persist for both motorists and businesses: unfortunately, there are still lines at gas stations, and it is not always possible to find the right type of gasoline,” he said.
According to the kremlin leader, russian authorities have already imposed a temporary total ban on the export of gasoline and jet fuel to ensure the domestic market’s supply.
“We are considering the need to impose a complete ban on the export of diesel fuel as well,” putin stated.
He also stated that russia has maximized the capacity of its largest oil refineries and enlisted small and medium-sized enterprises in production.
Against the backdrop of regular Ukrainian strikes on russian oil refineries and oil depots, reports of fuel supply disruptions and a growing shortage in the domestic market are becoming increasingly frequent in russia.
As a reminder, confidence in putin has fallen to its lowest level since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
