In the occupied Crimea, russian invaders have introduced a “regime of temporary power restrictions.” Previously, a similar regime had been introduced only in occupied Sevastopol.

The so-called “Krymenergo” announced this on Thursday, June 25.

“This is a necessary measure. It is required to prevent the power grid from becoming overloaded and to avoid a failure across the entire power system,” the statement reads.

According to the occupiers, since the decision to cut off power was made by the system operator, there are currently no precise hourly schedules for the peninsula’s districts. Power cuts “will be carried out on a case-by-case basis and as needed.”

In simple terms, the occupiers will cut off electricity when necessary, but residents of the peninsula will only find out about it after the power goes out.

The occupiers have referred to these unscheduled power outages as “temporary difficulties,” urging residents to “be understanding” of the situation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 25, the occupied Crimea came under a massive drone attack. According to local Telegram channels, the Tavriya and Balaklava thermal power plants were targeted.

And on the night of June 23–24, occupied Sevastopol was left without power for several hours following a nighttime drone attack.

As a reminder, on June 22, the occupiers announced the introduction of rolling blackouts in several districts of the peninsula.
