Russia may be planning provocations involving Polish symbols on Ukrainian territory during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), which is taking place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk, Poland. It was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on its Telegram channel, according to the Ukrainian News agency.
"Russia may be preparing provocations using Polish symbols and intends to carry them out on Ukrainian territory. According to available information, a Russian group has been tasked with this mission. The Russians intend to carry out these provocations during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk,” the statement reads.
According to the CCD, the enemy’s main goal is political destabilization, creating tension and division between Poland and Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian delegation to the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdańsk (Poland), taking place on June 25–26, was led by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The previously scheduled conference is taking place against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between Ukraine and Poland, after Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced on June 19, the day before the conference, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been stripped of the Order of the White Eagle, which had previously been awarded to him by former Polish President Andrzej Duda.
It had previously been expected that Zelenskyy would travel to Poland to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference.
