The first monthly auctions for the allocation of interstate capacity for electricity exports from Ukraine for July 2026 were held on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) platform.
This was announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the largest volume of resource in the export direction was allocated at the Ukraine - Hungary intersection - 167 MW.
The average price of access to the interstate intersection was EUR 3.21 per MW.
On the routes to Slovakia and Romania, auction participants received 44 MW of capacity each.
The average prices were EUR 0.36 per MW and EUR 1.89 per MW, respectively.
Among the winners of the auctions are Axpo Solutions, GEN-I, D. TRADING, CEZ and other traders.
At the same time, monthly auctions for electricity imports to Ukraine were held on JAO.
The largest volume of capacity was allocated on the Hungarian direction - 431 MW, and participants on the Slovak and Romanian crossings received another 112 MW each.
On July 29, 2025, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Municipal Services (Energy Commission) agreed on the rules for long-term allocation of capacity at interstate crossings in Ukraine, namely the launch of a new medium-term mechanism for monthly allocation of interstate crossings at the Ukrainian borders with Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
The new rules allow auctions to be held on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) platform - a centralized electronic hub that unites transmission system operators in Europe.
The corresponding initiative is being implemented jointly with the national energy company Ukrenergo and system operators of the mentioned countries.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May 2026, compared to April, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 2.8 times to 94,000 MWh.
Joint Allocation Office is a platform on which the capacity of interstate intersections is allocated through joint auctions.
