In May, compared to April, Ukraine increased electricity exports 2.8 times to 94,000 MWh.
Еhe ExPro publication has announced this, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the largest increase was recorded in the Romanian direction, more than five times to 16,200 MWh.
The largest export volumes traditionally fall on the Hungarian direction, which provided 64% of all electricity supplies abroad in May.

In total, since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has exported 157,500 MWh of electricity.
At the same time, there were no electricity exports in January and February.
Compared to May 2025, export volumes remained almost at the same level.
According to ExPro calculations, electricity imports in May decreased by 29% compared to April to 398,000 MWh.
Deliveries decreased in all directions, except Slovakia.
The largest volume of imports also fell on the Hungarian direction - 52% of the total volume of deliveries.
At the same time, compared to May 2025, electricity imports to Ukraine increased by 3%.

Despite a significant increase in exports, Ukraine remains a net importer of electricity.
In May, the volume of imports exceeded export deliveries by more than four times.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April compared to March, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 40% to 558,200 MWh.
In April 2026, electricity exports increased by 10% compared to March 2026 to 33,000 MWh, and compared to April 2025, exports fell by 78%.
