Russian troops committed another act of terror against Ukrainian heritage by attacking the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv, which resulted in the destruction of the largest costume collection in Ukraine.

This was written by the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Another extremely serious crime by the russians against Ukrainian culture. Russia attacked the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv. One of the oldest film studios in Ukraine. A fire broke out," the head of the Ministry of Culture said.

According to the official, the film studio's costume shop suffered the greatest blow: the fire completely destroyed a unique collection that had been collected for decades and had no analogues in the country.

"The studio had about one hundred thousand costumes and three million pieces of various clothing. Other buildings and buildings of the film studio were also damaged," Berezhna added, publishing footage from the scene of the emergency.

Currently, rescue and emergency services continue to work on the territory of the Dovzhenko film studio. Specialists are eliminating the consequences of the attack, extinguishing the fire and taking measures to ensure safety at the facility.

Commenting on another crime of the aggressor country, the minister emphasized that russia is waging war not only against military or civilian infrastructure, but also trying to eliminate the Ukrainian nation itself by destroying its cultural code.

"Russia continues to purposefully attack not only civilian infrastructure and civilians, but also cultural institutions that preserve Ukrainian identity, memory and history," the head of the department concluded.
