Part of military will be allowed to retire from service by yearend - Fedorov

Those military personnel who have been in the Defense Forces the longest and spent the most time in combat will be allowed to retire from service by the end of the year.

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Another key issue. Justice for those who have been in the Defense Forces the longest and spent the most time in combat. For them, we are starting a gradual retirement from service by the end of the year," he said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Fedorov announced that the Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a package of resolutions that launches the first stage of a comprehensive transformation of the military service system.

The second will provide for a comprehensive transformation of the recruiting and mobilization process.

Fedorov also reported that the Ministry of Defense intends to fill up to 50% of the positions of stormtroopers and infantrymen with foreigners.
