Special protective nets have been installed over truck parking lots in the Valdai District of the Novgorod Oblast in russia. The structures were placed 9 kilometers from vladimir putin’s official country residence. It was reported by the russian publication “Agentstvo. News” with reference to published photographs.

Massive nets stretched directly over the trucks were spotted, in particular, on the M-10 federal highway near the town of Valdai. In panoramic images from Yandex Maps and satellite images from Google Maps from last year, such structures were not present at this location.

According to investigators, the installation of protective elements along the highway began after the large-scale operation by Ukrainian special services, Spiderweb, which took place on June 1, 2025.

As noted by the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) investigative project, such metal or rope nets are capable of intercepting only small UAVs or light payloads. Such structures would be unable to protect facilities from direct hits by large Ukrainian long-range drones such as the Liutyi.

As a reminder, Sergey Lavrov previously accused Ukraine of sending 91 drones toward putin’s state residence and called these claims “terrorism.” Lavrov also said that russia would not walk away from peace talks but would “reconsider its negotiating positions.”

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that russia has not provided any evidence to support the information about an alleged drone attack on russian president vladimir putin’s residence in Valdai. According to the Ukrainian side, these statements are fabricated and part of a russian disinformation campaign.
