President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed US officials that during a massive airstrike on the night of May 23–24, the aggressor state, the russian federation, fired two Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles at Ukraine.
Zelenskyy reported this in a letter to US President Donald Trump, the text of which was published by journalist Barak Ravid.
Zelenskyy wrote that on the night of May 24, the russians used 54 cruise missiles, 30 ballistic missiles, 4 hypersonic (Zircon) missiles, and 2 aeroballistic (Kinzhal) missiles to strike Ukraine.
In addition, russia launched Oreshnik missiles. One of them struck the Kyiv Region, while the second reportedly fell in the occupied part of the Donetsk Region.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 24, the occupiers used an Oreshnik missile to strike Bila Tserkva. It dropped submunitions over the eastern part of the city, hitting a garage cooperative; there were no casualties.
Later, a video was posted online, allegedly filmed in the occupied part of the Donetsk Region. It shows the fall of simulated warheads. This was observed in Bila Tserkva during the attack, as well as in Dnipro and Lviv, when they were struck by Oreshnik missiles.
The OSINT project CyberBoroshno confirmed that the video was filmed by a camera installed in the eastern part of occupied Donetsk. The camera was pointed north-northwest. Its field of view includes Avdiivka, Yasynuvata, Kramatorsk, Izium, Vovchansk, and the russian city of Belgorod.
Yurii Ihnat, head of the Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Air Forces, stated in a comment to the media that the military has so far confirmed the use of only one Oreshnik.
Later, it became known that the russians had published a satellite image of the airfield in Bila Tserkva, showing large craters and extensive destruction. It later turned out that this photo was a fake, generated using AI.
