Ukraine has the ability to work preventively against russian territories, from where the threat may come, and against the actual leadership of Belarus, which must understand the consequences in case of involvement in war. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this on Thursday, May 21.
Zelenskyy was on a working trip to the city of Slavutych in the Kyiv Region, from where he recorded a video address. According to him, the Security and Defense Forces are strengthening the border in the Kyiv and Chernihiv Regions due to the threat from Belarus, which the aggressor country wants to drag into a war against Ukraine.
"We have the capacity to strengthen, we have the capacity to work preventively with regard to russian territories - there may be a threat from there - and with regard to the actual leadership of Belarus, which must be in good shape, that is, feel realistically that there will be consequences if there are aggressive actions against Ukraine, against our people," the head of state emphasized.
Ukraine will not forget that in 2022 the russian occupiers also attacked from the territory of Belarus, so the Defense Forces, Security and Intelligence Forces are ready to respond, Zelenskyy stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 21, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he was open to talking with Ukraine and was ready to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the problems of relations between the two countries.
