The Antimonopoly Committee has granted Silpo-Food LLC permission to acquire control over real estate and equipment owned by the Eurotec Group of Companies.
This is stated in a press release from the AMCU, as reported by the Ukrainian News agency.
In total, the AMCU granted five such approvals.
The Eurotec Group has been operating in the market since 1995 and unites the Arsen, Fresh, Soyuz, and Kvartal supermarket chains.
Earlier, it was reported that the group is closing all of its stores in Ukraine, with the last day of operation scheduled for May 31.
The "Arsen" chain has six stores in Lviv, as well as two each in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne.
The "Soyuz" (14 stores) and "Kvartal" (23 discount stores) chains operated in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Pryluky, Slavutych, Zhytomyr, and Berdychiv.
The "Fresh" chain operated nine supermarkets in Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, and Rivne.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Antimonopoly Committee had previously granted Volodymyr Kostelman, owner of the "Silpo" chain, permission to acquire control over the "Badioryi" chain of markets.
Fozzy Group unites the "Silpo" supermarket chain, "Fora" neighborhood stores "Fora," Fozzy wholesale hypermarkets, the Thrash! discount chain, "Bila Romashka" pharmacy supermarkets, Ringoo electronics stores, as well as the Nizhyn Canning Plant (TM "Nizhyn") and the VKF "Varto" poultry farm.
