Germany allocates more than EUR 10 million for military training centers in Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that the country is allocating more than EUR 10 million to a European Union initiative to establish military training centers in Ukraine.

It was reported by dpa.

During a visit to Kyiv, Pistorius said that the allocated funds will cover the costs of the infrastructure necessary for the operation of an entire training center.

He also added that these centers are intended to help maintain the combat readiness of the Ukrainian army, including after the conclusion of a possible peace agreement with russia.

According to the German minister, this initiative is one of a series of measures aimed at strengthening future deterrence.

In addition, he noted, nearly 27,000 Ukrainian military personnel have undergone training in Germany.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 11, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv to hold talks on expanding cooperation with Ukraine in the defense industry.

Germany and Ukraine are officially expanding their defense cooperation, focusing on the development and mass production of long-range unmanned systems.
