Large-scale tactical training exercises for patrol officers have begun at training grounds across Ukraine and will last two weeks. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this on Monday, May 11.
Patrol officers from all regions of Ukraine have begun training at the training grounds, with the program including firearms training, an obstacle course, psychological resilience, and tactical medicine.
"Now, patrol officers will take turns living at the training grounds. This applies to all units, starting with the patrol service; then we plan to expand to district police units. We will enlist military personnel who have seen combat as part of the 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the National Guard as instructors," said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
During a two-week intensive course, patrol officers will undergo firearms training, tactical medicine, psychological training, and teamwork exercises. At the end of the course, each officer will take an exam simulating real-life situations and scenarios that may arise while on duty.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 19, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko instructed National Police Chief Ivan Vyhovskyi to conduct an internal investigation into the actions of police officers during the terrorist attack in Kyiv.
