Authorities in moscow, within the aggressor state of russia, are preparing to impose unprecedented restrictions on communications ahead of May 9. Mobile service, SMS messaging, and access to websites on the so-called "whitelist" are likely to be completely blocked.

BBC News reported this on Wednesday, April 29, citing its own sources.

The publication’s sources stated that communication blackouts in moscow are scheduled for May 5, 7, and 9. Communications will be jammed not only in the central part of the russian capital but also within the moscow Ring Road, which surrounds the city.

BBC News sources reported that all mobile communications will definitely be down on those days. Additionally, SMS messages and access to internet resources that the authorities have added to the so-called “whitelist” will likely be blocked.

BBC News notes that moscow authorities shut down mobile internet in March of this year. Internet service was unavailable for three weeks in the city center. It was restored without any prior notice or explanation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, April 28, the russian Ministry of Defense stated that military equipment would not participate in the May 9 parade on Red Square in moscow. The reason cited was the “current operational situation.”

In early April, a number of russian bloggers claimed that the kremlin was considering options to cancel or postpone the May 9 parade due to fears of attacks by Ukrainian drones.
