Russian strike on hospital in Odesa Region: reception department destroyed, patients evacuated

On the night of April 29, russian troops struck a district hospital in the Odesa Region, completely destroying the reception department.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).

The medical facility's therapeutic, cardiological and surgical departments, as well as ultrasound and X-ray rooms, were damaged. Medical staff and patients were in shelter during the attack, there were no injuries among them. After the shelling, they were transferred to another facility.

At the same time, residential buildings in the region were destroyed as a result of the attack. In one of the multi-storey buildings, the facade and windows were damaged without further ignition.

Due to falling debris, reed fires broke out in the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve.

According to the Regional Military Administration, two people were injured - a 47-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman. The woman was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds, and doctors assess her condition as serious.

As a reminder, three people were killed as a result of the night attack on Odesa on April 6, including a child, and 10 more people were injured.
