As a result of a strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Tuapse in the Krasnodar Krai of the aggressor state of russia, 24 storage tanks for oil and petroleum products were destroyed. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Monday, April 27.
The General Staff provided details on the results of the latest attack by Ukrainian drones on Tuapse, where an oil refinery and an oil loading terminal are located. The city was struck twice — on April 16 and 20.
"It has been confirmed that 24 tanks were destroyed and four were damaged as a result of the strike on April 20 in the area of the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation," the statement reads.
In addition, a vacuum oil distillation unit was damaged as a result of a Ukrainian attack on the "Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez" oil refinery in the Yaroslavl Oblast.
As a reminder, Ukrainian drones struck the oil refinery in the Yaroslavl region on the night of April 26. This facility is among the five largest oil refiners in russia and has an annual processing capacity of 15 million tons.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 24, russian media reported that Tuapse faces the risk of a disrupted tourist season due to pollution of the sea and coastline resulting from the drone attack on the oil refinery.
As a reminder, on April 20, residents of Tuapse complained about an “oil rain” that fell on the city amid a massive fire following a drone attack.
