Ukraine is bringing home 193 prisoners of war as part of a prisoner exchange with russia, the aggressor nation. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Facebook page on Friday, April 24.

Ukraine and russia have carried out another prisoner exchange, thanks to which 193 defenders are returning home, Zelenskyy emphasized. According to him, those released include servicemen from the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the National Police, and the State Special Transport Service, who defended the country on various fronts. Among them are those against whom russia has opened criminal cases, as well as the wounded.

"It is important that exchanges are taking place and that our people are returning home. I thank everyone working to make these exchanges possible – every unit on the frontline that ensures the replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine. I am grateful to all partners who are helping in this effort," the President wrote.
