President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Oleksandr Balanutsa as ambassador to Bahrain on a part-time basis. This is stated in decree No. 333 of April 22, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"To appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Balanutsa as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Bahrain on a part-time basis," the document states.
45-year-old Balanutsa has held the post of Ambassador to the UAE since July 2025.
In May-October 2024, he was Deputy Minister of Defense, and in 2019-2024, he was Ambassador to Kuwait.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 22, Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine is working out the parameters of security cooperation with India and Bahrain.
