More than 30 tankers have broken through the US naval blockade, which President Donald Trump announced on April 12. It was reported by the British edition of the Financial Times with reference to data from the analytical company Vortexa.

According to Vortexa, since April 12, at least 19 tankers linked to Iran have left the Persian Gulf. At least 15 more vessels have passed the blockade from the Arabian Sea towards Iranian ports.

It is reported that six of the above tankers were carrying a cargo of Iranian crude oil. The total volume of cargo is 10.7 million barrels.

Based on the estimated USD 10 discount to the price of the benchmark Brent crude oil, the cost of Iranian oil on the tankers could be about USD 190 million.

It is emphasized that Iranian oil is usually sold at discounted prices because it is under sanctions.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 12, US President Donald Trump said, that the US Navy starts blockade of the Strait of Hormuz after the failure of peace talks between Washington and Tehran.

Last Monday, April 20, it became known that Iran refused to hold the second round of negotiations with the United States. Tehran accused Washington of violating the truce since its conclusion.
